On the continent of Caledonia, the scars of a centuries old war continue to blight the land. A division lays at the heart of Caledonia, a magical Wall splitting the country in two. In the Lower Lands, humans and other mortal beings live out their lives in relative peace and safety but whispers and rumors abound of the magic that can be found in the Upper Lands, controlled exclusively by the four Fae Courts. It is said that a balm to cure any pain, a cure to ease any heartbreak and magic to overcome any obstacle can be found there - and that the key to true, perfect immortality lays in wait for those those brave and foolish enough to seek it out. But knowing so little of the Upper Lands, can you trust even this much?
Why do you seek the cross the Wall? Glory? Riches? The promise of eternal life? The only thing you know for certain is that nothing you find in the Upper Lands will ever truly be as it seems...
The Land Fae & Falsehoods is a Discord-based, text only DnD 5e campaign starting at level 3. Given my target audience, I presume it goes without saying that it will be roleplay heavy!! Based on the old folklore and fae mythology of England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales characters travel to the mysterious Upper Lands and traverse the Fae Courts in search of the strange magic said to lurk there – or in search of answers to its many mysteries.
This is the formal signup post for the full campaign. For transparency's sake, I am capping the campaign at four to five players based on turnout, so I may not be able to accommodate everyone who signs up. Additionally, due to my timezone and availability, I am relatively settled on the timeslot being Friday evenings (England time), so keep that in mind when signing up – I am still open to considering However, I am open to other slots so please let me know what times work best for you and I'll see what I can do!
Signups are below! Simply fill out the provided form and drop it in the comments. Note that you do not need to have a full character concept worked out this early, but having at least an elevator pitch or a general idea for what class you want to play will help me in balancing party comp!
Signups close at midnight on January 31st and session zero will be held at some point in the first two weeks of February.

Character Pitch: Daimhim the Throneless, a robin hood-esq bandit lord. Looking for the powers of the Fae to further his personal causes.
Class: Thinking Barbarian/Rogue, but willing to do just Rogue if someone else is leaning more tanky!

Character Pitch: a young lady from a ruined family who thinks she can reclaim her RIGHTFUL power and glory through the fae -- and believes herself to be smart enough to avoid the consequences. she got this idea from a romance novel.

Character Pitch: A just-before-middle-aged person's performing career has finally taken off when OOPS THEY GAIN WILD MAGIC and they set the stage on fire or some other incredibly disastrous event. Due to this and the wild magic that won't go away, they learn from either someone in their family or orphanage records (haven't decided yet) that one of their parents (or grandparents, tbd) was possibly Fae. So now they want to march into the Upper Lands, find said parent, and tell them to TURN IT OFF so they can get back to their normal life and, hopefully, their career.

Character Pitch: A local temple known for its beautiful statues and idols was raided and set to flame one day, when an idol of the goddess miraculously came to life and began defending the worshippers! Now a very determined lady made of stone is out there hunting down the perpetrators of the attack.
Class: Paladin. Of the god she's supposed to be a depiction of, which might be a little awkward.

Character Pitch: Lady who fell in love with someone at first sight, but the person turned out to be a fae. The two had a romance brewing but they disappeared one day and she's been searching for them ever since. Having looked everywhere else, she's braving the Upper Lands to try to find them. Quiet and kind of a space case, sheltered aristocrat type personality but has a strong will and a plucky spirit.
Class: Sorcerer or Wizard, but I'm flexible. I'm picturing her as a spellcaster but tbh if a Monk would fit I can absolutely go the fisticuffs route.

My disclaimer is that I am still pretty new to DnD so I'm still learning the systems and how to do some stuff e_e BUT this looks super cool so I wanted to toss a hat into the ring!!
